About Circle of Joy
In 2006, Wendie met Brian Williams at the YMCA in Wausau. The signs were clear that God
had introduced them, since Brian, who is allergic to cats, was not allergic to Wendie’s
cats, Zephaniah and Angel. As a teacher, Brian has interests in history, and a passion
for outdoor education, and has been involved in coordinating Log Jam and encampments.
With Wendie’s desire to share nutrition, recovery, and fitness with the community and
cyclists on the Tomahawk MDA Fall Ride, they offered the first Circle of Joy Wellness
Festival in September of 2006. Brian and Wendie were married in March of 2007, and are
exploring ways to share the many facets of wellness that can be taught at Circle of Joy.
Wendie has a vision of offering a holistic day treatment program for those in recovery
from addictions, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders. Brian will be facilitating a
men’s support group, and has plans to teach martial arts and survival skills workshops.
Many lives are touched through Circle of Joy:
Wendie shares, “God put it on my heart that I was to bring together a place where people could gather to heal. The vision was to welcome those in recovery, those interested in natural paths to wellness, and all who search for spiritual connection. How powerful that this has come to pass at my aunt and uncle’s farm! This is where I grew to love the land, woods, gardening, animals, and to respect a simple, peaceful way of life. Each person who visits Circle of Joy is part of the family here, adding to the transformation of the property, and creating well-being in their own life.”
Circle of Joy

Welcome to "Circle of Joy".
A place where life you
can enjoy.
Nia is great for Mind, Body, and Spirit.
You will experience the Joy of Movement through Dance
Arts, Healing Arts, just to name a few.
Nia will be
fun for me and you. You can be graceful or strong.
There is no wrong. Energetic and refreshed.
At the
end of class you will feel your best.
Wendie our
Teacher will sing along to Karen Drucker,
thank you
for this day... It's almost time to be on our way.
The fun will end until next week when we meet again.
Thank you Wendie! The spirit in me honors the spirit
in you....
"I would like to introduce everyone to Circle of Joy!
Friends and family will all benefit from the healing
atmosphere that Wendi Martell has created. I heard
about Nia dance through a friend and decided to try it
on her reccomendation. I have never been athletic,
but Nia connected me to my body and freed me of my
fearful inhibitions. Circle of Joy is the perfect
name for this space because Joy is the sensation
achieved during and after Nia. I soon started going
to other workshops including meditation and intuitive
readings. These beneficial spiritual experiences were
incorporated into my own lifeplan of recovery, healing
and spiritual growth. I met wonderful people,
interested in sharing their personal growth. We are
so blessed to have this resource in Northcentral
Wisconsin. Circle of Joy is a sunlight filled space
where I continure to expand and learn to live in the
light."
Love, Maria
